Hi All!
How to Active “Some commercial Qualcomm chipset derived phones and data cards may not have diagnostics reporting enabled by default” without contact Ericsson Support ?
Some commercial Qualcomm chipset derived phones and data cards may not have diagnostics reporting enabled by default, and Ericsson is not at liberty to distribute information on how to enable this function. Customers desiring to use such devices with TEMS Investigation therefore need to contact the relevant supplier or operator in each case. These phones are marked with * in the table below.
Hi All
So far that i have tested, Samsung SGH-Z560 and SGH-Z720 Phones are connectable with TEMS Investigation and can perform good measurement without any need of a special firmware. As well as almost all (but not all) Samsung CDMA phones, as they are an Qualcomm based phones. Also Motorola CDMA Phones as V3m, V3c, W362 etc… It’s nice to try, but I think Ericsson put no warranty on this as we can buy it freely from the open market.

Kyocera KX2 connects easily , there is no requirement for special firmware, I have tested it, and kyocera is supposed to be good phone for measurement and goos sensitivity.
I confirm that my Huawei E618 Data Card is working with TEMS Inv 8.0.3 with normal drivers from CD that came with the card. I just plugged in the card and open Inv 8. I made a refresh in Ctrl & Config and the card was automaticaly detected. Pressed connect all and working.
Can someone share the various AT commands that will be needed to activate diagnostic ports for various Samsung models (say something like a database) for those people who other models of Samsung phones.
Or is the command more or less the same for phone models.
i tried with SAMSUNG SGH-M620
the command used was AT$SUSBC=1 as described in the above mentioned post.
it did something but gave error halfway.
due to which although the modem and serial port which were visible earlier , disappeared but no sign of TRACE port was there.
SAME with motorola V3
only a samsung usb device stays in USB devices after the command. and motorola usb device incase of motorola V3.
SAMSUNG gave some commands when i hit help for advance commands in which a command to switch serial port to tracer port is
AT*TRACE
but gave error with samsung SGH-M620 , this phone is not listed but i tried since its a QUALCOMM MSM6500 chipset based phone and was readily with me.
can somebody explain if i m wrong somewhere?

The command AT$SUSBC=1 is Samsung proprietary and will only work with Samsung UEs. Now it might be because the phone you describe is quite old, it doesn’t support this command.
As an alternative solution, try this..
Older Sasmung phones have a test mode that you can access by typing *#123580#
If it works, go to menu item 9, then 6 and then pick Qualcomm USB.
This accomplishes the same thing as the AT command in the original post. If you play around with the test mode you can see some more interesting info like lac, rac, frequencies etc.
